If you thought it was impossible to improve on what already seemed like perfection, take a look at this Team Associated RC 12R5.2 Factory Team Kit. After more than three decades of racing history, Team Associated has learned that it's the small details that allow for continued improvement to their racing designs. This latest factory kit is a great example. While racing their previous 1:12 scale incarnation, the RC 12R5.1, and adding what was learned as well as some tweaks utilizing the newest racing technologies, Associated has come up with a car that's even faster, more precise and a consistent winning contender.
Starting with an already-proven World Championship-winning front end featuring dynamic struts and adjustable track width and caster, the improved design adds lower control arms that can now be more precisely and accurately mounted. Rear pod links have been updated and, while the three-point fitting for brushless motors has been maintained, the two aluminum bulkheads are now tied together with a rigid, durable graphite cross brace motor mount.
The carbon-fiber chassis is an ultra-rigid 2.5 mm thick and features a centralized LiPo mounting space to fit ROAR (Remotely Operated Auto Racers)-approved battery packs (3.7v). Also new to the RC 12R5.2 are aluminum side-spring retainers that allow for suspension adjustments that are both easier and more precise. A through-shaft center shock gives equal damping in both directions of shock travel without unwanted rebound. New side damper tubes control roll, allow for easier rear pod movement and even make for easier maintenance.
Serious 1:12 scale racers utilizing this new generation Team Associated chassis will immediately learn what no-compromise world-class performance is all about. Precise handling at break-neck speeds is what's being offered here and, to make it all the more sweet, it's being offered at a great price!
